Macro Nature Photography Workshops
A new and unique experience on Zakynthos…
If you have a passion for nature and an interest in photography why not try a macro photography workshop? Whether you’re a complete novice with a DSLR camera or are more experienced, there’s tuition for all levels!
Join me for an engaging and hands-on experience, where we go out into the field with camera in hand to explore the fascinating world of tiny things!
Never done macro nature photography before? That’s not a problem! I’m here to guide you!
What To Expect From A Macro Nature Photography Workshop…
- No more than two participants per workshop, so we can get the most from our time together.
- Gentle guidance to help build confidence.
- The workshop will start with a little (non-technical) technical talk to familiarise you with macro photography camera settings. My aim here isn’t to blind you with science, but to give you a starting point according to your skill level before we head off into nature.
- As we progress through our session together you will learn about ISO, f-stop and shutter speeds and how they affect your photography.
- We will discuss how to use light and composition when looking for the best angles.
- You will learn about the best camera settings for and how to go about capturing the image you have in your head.
- We will discuss the pros and cons of natural light v’s flash when it comes to macro nature photography in the field.
- We will look at the photos on the back of the camera and discuss possible style tweaks that might improve the photograph.
- Participants are welcome to ask questions during our session together or via email after our session, when more than likely, in the middle of the night or in the shower a question will come to mind!
- All photos taken on the day will be available to download in both RAW and jpg formats. The good and the not so good! As studying the good along side the bad is how we learn what worked and what didn’t.
- I will review your photos taken on the day and give you any tips or insights that might help to improve them.
- You will receive class notes highlighting what we went through on the day – these will be good for future reference..
What Will You Get From This Experience?
- A unique and unforgettable experience on this beautiful Greek island!
- Ultimately the perfect workshop is one you will walk away from having not only a better insight of how to take nature macro photographs, but one where you have also learned a bit about the subjects around us. After all part of the secret of nature photography is knowing your subjects!
- Workshops can be quite physically demanding. During the workshop we will be walking across uneven terrain, maybe occasionally off trail. There will be times when you have to get down low to get the shot you want, so a reasonable level of fitness is necessary.

Workshops are conducted in the morning when nature is at its most sleepy giving you a better chance of capturing those perfect shots!.
