Being In Nature Benefits

We hear about the benefits of being in nature all the time, but have you tried it? The Japanese really are onto something with there forest bathing! As soon as you set foot into a natural environment you can feel the worries of the world just melt away!
Having an interest in macro nature photography and hiking I often find myself wandering in nature and it is honestly where I feel my most relaxed. As soon as I set foot out of the car my senses engage with the sights, sounds and smells around me and I feel transformed. My body and mind relaxes and the only thing that matters is the here and now.
Being In Nature Is Good For Your Mental Health!
You don’t have to hike or enjoy nature photography to feel the benefits of being in nature. Although I can recommend both! Just a walk on the beach or in a local park is enough to lift the spirits and give you a feel good vibe. Not only does it make you feel good, but research has shown that it also helps boost our immune systems too! Now that’s a bit of a win-win right there…
Can’t walk far? It’s really not about the distance you wander, but how it makes you feel. Just because you are only able to walk short distances, doesn’t mean you can’t benefit from being in nature! There is nothing wrong with spending time sitting in nature, it’s not the activity, but the environment that will make you feel good. You might even find you want to push yourself and walk that little bit further each time…. It could even be the start of something entirely new for you!
Whatever the weather I find myself caught in I have never returned home regretting going out. Rain or shine, I’m happy! As the saying goes there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes! In fact, if I miss my morning walk with the dogs my day just doesn’t feel right! A coffee followed by a wander in nature as the sun rises is how I start my day.
Don’t Take My Word For It!
There really is nothing like being in nature to make you feel good and to help you put life into perspective. I understand not everyone has access to mini mountains or forested areas, but anywhere you can hear birds sing and and hear the rustle of leaves on a breezy day will do! Don’t take my word for it, try it for yourself!
